JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono and Minister of Youth and Sports (MENPORA) Zainudin Amali visited the Nindya Karya Indoor Multifunction Stadium project at the Gelora Bung Karno Sports Complex ( GBK). The three ministers carried out a review in the context of Indonesia's preparation as the host of the upcoming 2023 FIBA ​​World Cup.

During his visit, the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono, said the construction of this indoor arena was Indonesia's moment as the host of the upcoming 2023 FIBA ​​World Cup.

"As the person in charge of development, I followed up on the request of the Minister of SOEs as a basketball fan, and the President ordered this to be built in order to host the Basketball World Cup," said Basuki.

Meanwhile, SOE Minister Erick Thohir was grateful for the implementation of the Indoor Multifunction Stadium Development Project in the GBK area.

"Of course this is a dream come true. Because it is an old dream of the Indonesian people, both in the basketball community and closed sports such as badminton, volleyball and so on," said Erick.

Through the same opportunity, Menpora Zainudin Amali said that the construction of the venue could improve Indonesia's sports achievements.

"This development is primarily dedicated to achievement, so it is to be used as much as possible to improve our sporting achievements," said Menpora Amali.
