Bendo Dam Project Starts Impounding

Nindya's Bendo dam project (operational cooperation/KSO) with Wijaya Karya and Hutama Karya officially began impounding the reservoir which was ceremonially held on Saturday (31/07). Present at the event were the Head of the Bengawan Solo River Basin Center (BBWS) Agus Rusdianto and the Regent of Ponogoro Sugiri Sancoko and their staff.
Bendo Dam is one of the National Strategic Projects (PSN) in the field of irrigation and irrigation. The location for the construction of the Bendo Dam is on the Keyang River which is geographically close to Ngindeng Village, Sawoo District, Ponorogo Regency, East Java. The specifications for the Bendo Dam consist of an upright core zonal rock embankment dam type with a main dam height of 74 meters, a total peak length of 337.58 meters and a total carrying capacity of 43.11 million cubic meters. Bendo Dam is expected to provide irrigation benefits reaching 7,800 hectares of agricultural land, raw water availability of 370 liters/second and flood reduction of 290 cubic meters/second.
With the commencement of the impounding, the benefits of the dam in supporting agricultural irrigation and the development of other economic sectors in the area can be felt by the wider community.
