JAKARTA – As an effort to optimize the Progressive Steps taken by NINDYA in the planned Dumai Refinery Unit II mega project, NINDYA through the Nindya Learning Center (NLC) held a Sharing Session on the Refinary Plant Development Project. (15/07)

The sharing session, which was held online, presented the Minister of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Indonesia for the 2016 period, Ir. ArcandraTahar, M.Sc., Ph.D as resource person.

As is known and reported on June 25, 2021, NINDYA has made a new track record with the signing of a Joint Study Agreement between PT Nindya Karya (Persero), PT Pertamina and three South Korean companies, namely DH Global, Lotte Engineering. Construction and KOREIT for the Refinery Development Master Plan (RDMP) Dumai Refinery Unit II Project.

The Unit II Refinery RDMP Project itself is one of the National Strategic Projects included in the Revitalization of 5 Existing Oil Refineries in the Oil and Gas sector in Indonesia. Because it was included in the Strategic Project Plan, the project became the basis for the Sharing Session event.

Arcandra Tahar as the resource person said that there are several challenges that need to be considered in developing a refinery, namely,

1. Increased Variability of Crude Oil and Raw Materials
2. Tightening of Environmental Regulations and Product Quality
3. Maintain high equipment reliability
4. Refinery Margin is still very low
5. Electrification of the transport sector is a major long-term threat to refining

Meanwhile, the President Director of NINDYA Haedar A. Karim hopes that the Sharing session can provide more understanding to all NINDYA employees regarding the refinery development project.
