PTPP and NINDYA Consortium Project for the Kendari Bay Bridge Inaugurated by the President

Kendari (22/10) - President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) had the opportunity to directly inaugurate the PTPP and NINDYA Teluk Kendari Bridge Consortium Project accompanied by Director General of Highways of the Ministry of PUPR Hedy Rahadian, President Director of NINDYA Haedar A. Karim, and President Director of PTPP Novel Arsyad. The inauguration ceremony was held at the location of the Kendari Bay Bridge, Southeast Sulawesi by strictly implementing the Covid-19 health protocol.

The PTPP consortium with Nindya Karya (Persero) is trusted by the Ministry of PUPR to work on the Kendari Bay Bridge construction project which has a contract value of Rp. 800 billion. The Kendari Bay Bridge construction project was carried out with an implementation period of 5 (five) years in multiyears with a project maintenance period of 3 (three) years. The Kendari Bay Bridge has a building length of 1,348 meters where the bridge has 4 lanes with a total bridge width of 20 meters. This cable stayed bridge has a scope of construction work, including: construction of an approaching or oprit road (602.5 m), approach span (357.7 m), side span (180 m), main span or main span (200 m). ).

In his remarks, Jokowi stated that the presence of the Kendari Bay Bridge in Southeast Sulawesi Province would have a positive impact on the development of Kendari City, especially in the southern part of the city. With the construction of the Kendari Bay Bridge, it will provide many benefits to the surrounding community, especially as a support for the existing road network system. This is useful in the context of the process of accelerating the development of the Kendari City area. In addition, this bridge can cut the travel time of about 30 (thirty) minutes from Kota Lama to Poasia.

Jokowi also added that with the construction of the bridge connecting the bay, it is hoped that it can become a new icon (landmark) and can provide benefits to the Indonesian people, especially the people in Southeast Sulawesi Province.
