Support Irrigation Water Supply, Tugu Dam Impounding

The Tugu Dam officially carried out an impounding ceremony which was carried out ceremonially on Tuesday (21/09). This dam project is being carried out by Nindya (operational cooperation/KSO) with PT Minarta Dutahutama and PT Wijaya Karya.
The inauguration of the impounding of the Tugu Dam was marked by the closing of the conduit door by the Trenggalek Regent Mohamad Nur Arifin and the Head of the Brantas River Basin Center (BBWS) Mohammad Rizal. Also attending the event were General Manager of Infrastructure Division I Bambang Asmoro, Project Manager Bangun Arifanto, Marketing for Central Java Region, DIY Kadek Agustia and the project team.
In his remarks, the Head of BBWS Brantas Mohammad Rizal said the Tugu Dam can meet the irrigation needs of 1,200 hectares of rice fields, 12 liters of raw water per second and a Micro Hydro Power Plant (PLTMH) of 0.4 mega watts and reduce the scale of flood discharge by 76. 21 cubic meters per second.
Meanwhile, Trenggalek Regent Mohamad Nur Arifin hopes that the potential of the floating solar power plant (PLTS) that utilizes 5 percent of the inundated area of the Tugu Dam, the floating solar power plant, can generate electricity reaching 7.5 mega watts.
With the start of this impounding, the benefits of dams in supporting irrigation water supply, flood control and being able to develop energy potential from renewable energy sources can be felt by the wider community.
