Nindya Karya and the University of Indonesia Collaborate on Sustainable Construction Materials Research

Depok (June 19) – PT Nindya Karya (Persero) and the University of Indonesia officially signed a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) for the development of sustainable construction materials research at the Industrial Partner Cooperation Signing, Innovation Funding and Business Incubation Program Assignment Contract, and Intellectual Property Award Ceremony held at the Science Techno Park Building, University of Indonesia. This collaboration represents a strategic step by Nindya Karya to strengthen synergy with the academic world to develop construction materials that support sustainability principles and have potential for implementation in the industrial sector. Through the PKS, both parties are committed to conducting joint research, exchanging knowledge and technology, and encouraging the downstreaming of research results to provide tangible benefits to society.
One of the collaborative research projects currently being developed is PURIFA Brick: Purifying Responsive Infrastructure Facade with Activated Carbon Brick, which is funded by the Enhancing Quality Education for International University Impacts and Recognition (PPI EQUITY) Innovation Funding Program. This research focuses on the development of roster brick as a building facade element that supports energy efficiency, improves environmental quality, and addresses the needs of the construction sector, which is increasingly oriented towards sustainable development. This collaboration also represents a joint effort to ensure that the resulting innovations can be transformed into ready-to-implement solutions and provide added value to the construction industry.
The event was attended by Chairul Hudaya, Ph.D., Director of the Directorate of Innovation and High-Impact Research (DIRBT) at the University of Indonesia, who emphasized the importance of transforming research into tangible impact through collaboration and downstreaming. Nindya Karya was represented by Senior Vice President of Research & Information Technology Satrio Indrawibowo and Senior Vice President of Supply Chain Management Cut Raisa at the signing of the MoU. In line with this spirit, Nindya Karya continues to strengthen its role in supporting the development of sustainable construction innovation through strategic partnerships that connect research activities with industry needs, thereby generating benefits for the environment, society, and national development.
