Improving Food Security, President Jokowi Inaugurates Temef Dam Built by Nindya Karya

Kupang, 2/10 – President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo inaugurated the Temef Dam located in Kupang Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. This dam was built by Nindya Karya and is part of the government's efforts to increase economic growth and food security.
In his remarks, President Jokowi said that water is an important factor in increasing economic growth and food security in the South Central East region, East Nusa Tenggara. With the inauguration of the Temef Dam, it is hoped that it can be the first step for the development of other infrastructure in East Nusa Tenggara, in encouraging community welfare.
In this project, Nindya Karya is trusted to work on package 2 and package 3 with the scope of work including access road construction and spillway construction.
The Temef Dam is designed to have a capacity of 44.9 million cubic meters which can serve an irrigation area of 4,500 hectares and meet the raw water needs of 131 It/second for Kab. South Central Timor, North Central Timor Regency and Malaka Regency. In addition, this dam can reduce flooding of 3,750 in the Middle East Regency & Malaka Regency and has the potential for a Micro Power Plant (PLTM) of 1MW.
