Inaugurated by the President, Nindya Karya Project Ready to be Used to Increase Agricultural Productivity in Central Sulawesi

Jakarta (28/3) – The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo inaugurated the project carried out by Nindya Karya, the Gumbasa Dam and Irrigation Network during his working visit to Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi, on Wednesday (27/03).

According to the President, the Dam and Irrigation Network will optimize the service area of ​​8,180 hectares of rice fields. At the same time, it will almost double the agricultural index, from the original 149 percent to 300 percent. Therefore, he hopes that the rehabilitation of the Gumbasa irrigation area will increase the agricultural productivity of the region.

“I hope that the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the Gumbasa irrigation area will increase our agricultural productivity, support food security, resilience, and sovereignty, and improve the welfare of farmers,” explained President Jokowi.

Meanwhile, Project Manager of Gumbasa Irrigation Network Rehabilitation and Development Project Yoga Arifman said, as the executor of development, Nindya Karya continues to provide maximum performance by prioritizing project quality. So that food security and agricultural productivity in the region can be realized. Also present at the event were Minister of Public Works and Public Housing, Basuki Hadimuljono, Director General of Water Resources of the Ministry of PUPR Bob Arthur Lombogia, Expert Staff of the Minister of PUPR for Technology, Industry and Environment Endra S. Atmawidjaja, Director of Irrigation and Swamps of the Ministry of PUPR Ismail Widadi, Head of the Sulawesi III Palu River Basin Center (BWS) of the Ministry of PUPR Dedi Yudha Lesmana and Vice President of Production 2 Infrastructure Division 1 of PT Nindya Karya Edden Umaga Dinata.
