President Jokowi Inaugurates Pamukkulu Dam Worked on by Nindya Karya

TAKALAR – President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) inaugurated the Pamukkulu Dam Project that has been completed by Nindya Karya in Takalar Regency, South Sulawesi Province (5/7)

In the inauguration, Jokowi was accompanied by First Lady Iriana Jokowi, as well as the ranks of the Working Cabinet Ministers such as, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of Agriculture Amran Sulaiman, Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin. Also present were Nindya Karya President Director Moeharmein Zein Chaniago, Nindya Karya Operations Director 1 Firmansyah and Pamukkulu Dam Project Manager Djirjize Abdul Hakim.

The dam that was built has multiple functions, such as irrigation, clean water supply, and flood control. Thus, the existence of this dam is very crucial in supporting the agricultural sector which is the backbone of food security in Indonesia.

The Concrete Face Rockfill Dam (CFRD) type dam has an effective capacity of 77 million m3 and a flood area of ​​460 ha and is projected to serve irrigation of 6,188 ha and increase the Agriculture Index (IP) from the original 183% to 250%. Then the benefits of raw water with a capacity of 160 liters / second, the potential for hydroelectric power generation of 4.3 MW and also flood control in Takalar Regency.

In the implementation of the project, PT Nindya Karya was given the trust to work on package 2, in the form of inlet tunnel work, outlet, spillway building. Intake building, plinth, Faceslab Maindam, Hydromechanical Work and Public Facility Work.

Nindya Karya President Director Moeharmein Zein Chaniago said that the Dam Project worked on by Nindya Karya is not just a physical construction, but also a concrete step to improve community welfare and environmental sustainability. This dam also uses renewable energy both in the implementation of its construction and in its future operations by using hydroelectric power as the resource used.
