Realizing Acceleration of Clean Water Access, Nindya Karya Provides Clean Water Facilities in Batu Teritip Village, Dumai

Dumai, August 8, 2024 – Nindya Karya provides clean water facilities for the community in Batu Teritip Village, Sungai Sembilan District, Dumai, Riau Province. The handover of these clean water facilities is expected to provide a long-term solution to the problem of clean water access in the area.
The program was implemented collaboratively by Nindya Karya together with other State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), including Hutama Karya, Brantas Abipraya and Indra Karya. The construction of the clean water facilities began on Monday (10/30/2023) and was completed on Friday (5/31/2024) after going through an initial survey.
The handover was given symbolically, attended by the Nindya Karya TJSL Team, Sofi Jihan Nabilah, and received directly by the Head of Batu Teritip Village, Firmanto. This clean water facility aims to provide clean water that is suitable and sustainable for the daily needs of the community, such as cooking, bathing, and washing.
"On behalf of the Batu Teritip Village community, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Nindya Karya, Hutama Karya, Indra Karya, and Brantas Abipraya for this assistance. Clean water is a basic need that was previously very difficult for us to obtain," said Firmanto.
Batu Teritip Village is located close to the edge of Santahulu Beach, so the quality of the groundwater is not suitable for consumption by 2,314 Heads of Families (KK) or 4,164 people, due to the water that tends to be cloudy and salty. The position of the village which is far from clean water sources and the quality of the cloudy well water forces the community to buy refill water.
The construction of clean water facilities in Batu Teritip Village uses the brackish water reverse osmosis (BWRO) method which processes brackish water into fresh water, in accordance with the conditions of peat land and the village environment which is close to the sea.
This clean water assistance program is part of Nindya Karya's efforts to play an active role in social and sustainable initiatives and is committed to continuing to support programs that can have a positive impact on society, especially in terms of fulfilling basic needs such as clean water.
